International Sellerbarcamp #9 in Berlin

25th of November 2022 – Mercure Hotel MOA Berlin

What is a Barcamp?

In short: not another e-commerce conference!

Barcamps, also known as “unconferences”, differ from conventional conferences as no speakers are booked in advance. There are only participants. They develop the program together, which means that it fully meets the wishes of the participants.

How does the format work?

At the beginning of the barcamp, there will be a short round of introductions for the participants. Afterwards, the sessions (lectures, discussions, workshops) of the day will be developed by the participants themselves. The Barcamp lives from its participants. Each participant is therefore encouraged to host a session. A session lasts 45 minutes, followed by a 15-minute break. There are 3-4 parallel sessions per hour. The participants ultimately own the agenda. This approach means that the agenda always corresponds to the current wishes and needs of the participants.

The venue of the event is Hotel MOA. It is most convenient to stay there. We have the following special rates per night for attendees.

€153.00 including breakfast (non-cancellable, advance payment)

OR

€163.00 including breakfast (cancellation free of charge up to 7 days before arrival, no prepayment necessary)

Here is the link to the special rate. If the link does not work, all tickets are sold out. Please check HRS for alternative deals.

To make the event truly international, we want to incentivize International seller to attend by compensating them for the higher cost of travelling internationally.

In order to qualify, you will need a non-German billing address.

This is actually to the benefit of service providers and aggregators, who also have an interest that the majority of the attendees are sellers. You will thank us after the event.

The sessions can be held in any language. The moderation will be only in English.

Of course! We encourage anyone interested in speaking to pitch their topic during the session planning.

We are sure there will be more than one after party. If you know, you know.

We will comply, but not exceed, with all Covid-19-related requirements by the local authorities. No restrictions have currently been announced. Feel free to wear a face mask for your own protection. 😷

We will meet on the 24th of November at 18:00 at Hotel MOA. This is also the venue of the event the next day.

We will serve coffee, tea, water, snacks or fruits throughout the day and a vegetarian 3-course menu or a buffet for lunch.

Attendees will need to pay 19% VAT for the event ticket.

Exhibitors outside of Germany are exempt from German VAT. The reverse-charge procedure applies to them.

You can wire the payment to our SEPA account, or you can pay by credit card.

150 sellers and 50 service providers. Our last event in Munich was sold out weeks in advance. We are confident that this event will also be sold out.

We are not against generating more revenue, but in our experience the format does not work with larger groups. That’s why we cap the number of attendees at 200 people.

Sponsors

Thanks to these great companies, the event is possible (at that price).

We are a sustainable event, sponsored by the Senate of the City of Berlin

When implementing the Sellerbarcamp, we try to act sustainably in as many areas as possible. We would like to ask you to support this as well.

This is what we do

  • We rely exclusively on regional service providers.
  • We have chosen a location that is powered by sustainable energy.
  • Our team travels CO2-neutral by train and stays overnight at the event hotel to reduce travel.
  • We calculate the unavoidable CO2 emissions of the event and compensate this afterwards.
  • Wherever possible, we do not use printouts, giveaways or other materials.
  • There will be a vegetarian catering. The majority of ingredients will come from regional and seasonal cultivation. We will use fair trade products from developing countries.
  • We will avoid disposable solutions for tableware and equipment.
  • We use LED technology and save electricity in the equipment we use.
  • We use potted plants instead of floral decorations.
  • We live diversity and are signatories of the Diversity Charter.
  •

This is what we ask you

  • We ask you to arrive by train and public transport. We have chosen a convenient location with S-Bahn (Westhafen) and U-Bahn (Birkenstraße) within walking distance.
We ask you to stay at the location (Hotel MOA) to reduce local travel and because the hotel is powered by sustainable energy.
  • Please compensate the CO2 emissions of your journey. You can easily book this in our ticketing and we will take care of it for you.
  • Please use the offered possibilities of waste separation, if you produce waste on site.
  • Please bring us empty printer cartridges, old cell phones and leftover foreign currencies. We convert these in-kind donations into monetary donations for the BNI Foundation thanks to the „It’s for kids“ foundation. This benefits educational projects for children around the world.

With our event, we support the United Nations‘ Sustainable Development Goals. These have developed a plan that aims to transform society, the economy and the environment in a sustainable way. With our event, we contribute to the following of these goals:

Decent work and economic growth: as part of a global trading system, we influence sustainable working conditions.
Sustainable Consumption and Production: In the context of the economic ecosystem that has formed around Amazon, areas such as logistics, supply chains and the use of resources will be discussed.
Partnerships to achieve goals: Through the strong networking aspect of this event, new and lasting partnerships can be developed to help achieve the sustainability goals.
